THE TEAM

Graft is a wine shop and wine bar in uptown Charleston, South Carolina.

Created by two long-time friends, it is a celebration of good wine, community, great times and the best music.

Femi Oyediran

CO-OWNER/SOMMELIER

Femi is a self-professed 'music junkie' who likes to share the gift of a great glass over the sounds of a great album, while living in one of the greatest cities on earth. He discovered his passion for wine while working at the Charleston Grill, a restaurant that he says “endlessly rewarded your curiosity for wine & commitment to hospitality” under the encouragement and mentorship of the former Wine Director, Rick Rubel. During his time at the Grill, he made the rare achievement of passing the first three levels of the Court of Master Sommeliers within two years. He is also a two-time national finalist for the Chaine des Rotisseurs Best Young Sommelier in America competition, and the winner of the 2017 & 2019 Top Somm Blind Tasting Competition of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. He was awarded Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 2018 ‘40 Under 40' and was selected as ‘Sommelier of the Year’ along with Miles by Food and Wine Magazine in 2019.

Miles White

CO-OWNER/SOMMELIER

Born in Charleston, Miles started his hospitality career under his mother, caterer Callie White and sister, Carrie Morey of Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. He attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, while also attending hotel school at Cesar Ritz Hotel School in Brig, Switzerland. He received his sommelier certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers after graduating in the top of his class in the wine and beverage program at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. Afterwards, he was hired as a harvest intern at lauded Antica Terra, a cult winery in the Willamette Valley. After 3 years of traveling and winemaking in Oregon and Australia, he moved to New York City to work for Danny Meyer, one of his biggest inspirations, at The Modern in the MoMA. Once he felt his time in New York was up, Miles returned to Charleston to work at FIG Restaurant while he opened Graft.

Kirsten bhattacharyya

manager/sommelier

Originally from Lexington, KY Kirsten has always had a love affair with wine. She makes it a priority to try new bottles whenever possible, all while getting to know their nitty gritty details. Since starting out at a small wine and cheese shop in her hometown, she then went on to work in a completely different industry yet still found time to host creative, themed wine tastings and events for her coworkers and friends in Nashville. For the past 4+ years she has helped us here at Graft and we are proud to have her as our manager (someone’s gotta pick up after the boys, ya know?). She helps organize our weekly parking lot party “Good Neighbor Sunday”, assists in curating our weekly Tuesday Tastings, and enjoys squeezing her cat and painting murals in her free time.
